In accordance with the Regulations on the National Centre of Legislation and Legal Research of the Republic of Belarus approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No 630 of December 13, 2007 ”On certain measures for improving the law-making activity and scientific researches in the field of law“ the Centre is entitled to cooperate with government agencies, scientific organizations, other legal entities and individuals of foreign countries, with international organizations and intergovernmental entities in matters within the competence of the Centre, as well as to participate in the implementation of interstate scientific programs and projects, to carry out international cooperation in matters within the competence of the Centre.
To perform its functions the Centre is entitled to enter into agreements with the agencies and organizations of foreign countries, international organizations and interstate formations.
In order to implement this function the Centre has concluded agreements on cooperation and exchange of information with the Legislation Research Institute of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Centre of Legislation under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Economic Court of the Commonwealth of Independent States and with a number of educational institutions of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries.
The Centre has created favorable conditions for exchange of information, organization of joint seminars and conferences, conducting joint research and development within the framework of agreed guidelines and programs. The Centre has also established and developed professional contacts with international organizations, interstate formations, government agencies and other organizations of foreign states.
Currently, the Centre cooperates most actively with the agencies of the Union State, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the UNDP, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, Council of Europe, UNFPA, UNICEF.
Due to attained arrangements with the editorial staff of the Swiss Society of legislation copies of the Swiss Official bulletin of information LeGes were sent annually to the Centre until 2018.*
The Centre also cooperated:
with the International Organization for Migration in the framework of the international technical assistance project;
with the OSCE Office in Minsk in the form of participation in international seminars and in the framework of the international technical assistance project;
with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation in the form of participation in international seminars and conferences as well as in the framework of the international technical assistance project;
with the Koretsky Institute of state and law of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the framework of research projects conducting under the grants of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research in 2015–2018 years.
